  • Ashtanga Primary Series (Saturday, 13 Oct, 9:30-12pm)

    This workshop will be an opportunity for students to experience the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga in a relaxed and informative manner. Aspects of vinyasa, drishti, bandhas, mudras, and yoga philosophy will be presented. Modifications will be given for the more difficult poses in the Series. Suitable for students of all levels who have an established and regular Yoga practice.
    Hip Opening and Backbending Workshop (Saturday, 13 Oct, 4:30-7pm)

    This workshop is a stepping stone to accessing the tight and sometimes troublesome areas of the yogin's body. An assortment of postures to liberate the pelvis, shoulders and the heart. By nature, a usually well attended workshop. Please be advised not to eat 3 hours before this workshop.


    Ashtanga Foundations (Sunday, 15 Oct, 10-12:30pm)

    In this workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of Breath, Sun Salutations, Drishti (gazing point), basic seated postures and some finishing postures. Suitable for beginners, advanced beginners and those new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Evolutions and examples of the Jump Back and the Jump Through of the Ashtanga vinyasa system will be covered in detail. Technique and alignment of postures will be refined, allowing for efficiency of muscular force and correct breathing. Opening and finishing mantras will be explained. Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore South India.


    Pranyama and Meditation Workshop (Sunday, 14 Oct, 3-5pm)

    In this workshop, we will work with the elements of breath, posture, mantra, mudra and bandha to cultivate stillness, peace of mind and mental clarity. Suitable for practitioners of all levels. The workshop will begin with a brief discussion and will conclude with a seated meditation. Please be advised not to eat 3 hours before this workshop


    Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga Practice (Monday, 15 Oct, 6:30-8:30am)

    Daily practice of Traditional Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore South India. This supervised self paced practice allows the student to find their own rhythm of breath and movement. Adjustments and direction are given. Familiarity with the first half of the Ashtanga Primary Series is recommended.


    Led Primary series- Focusing on Arm Balances and Inversions (Monday, 15 Oct, 6:30-8:30pm)

    Suitable for students of all levels who have an established and regular Yoga practice. This workshop will be an opportunity for students to experience the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga in a relaxed and informative manner. Aspects of vinyasa, drishti, bandhas, mudras, and yoga philosophy will be presented. Modifications will be given for the more difficult poses in the Series. Instruction in Shoulderstand, Headstand, Elbow Blanace and Handstands will be given in detail for practitioners of all levels.


    Private Classes

    Clayton is available for one on one Private Instruction by appointment, on Oct 15 & 16, Monday & Tuesday, between the hours of 11-4 pm. Fee per 1.5 hour class is USD 95. Need some extra help with your practice? This is a wonderful opportunity to receive insight into aspects such as breath, troublesome postures and injury prevention.

    Clayton Horton is the Director of Greenpath Yoga Studio in San Francisco California. He has been a student of yoga for over 19 years and began teaching in 1996. His practice is deeply rooted in the Ashtanga Tradition and Greenpath meditation. Clayton is a Founding Board Member of the Green Yoga Association. He is a student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and the Greensufi. Clayton received Formal Authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga from the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute of Mysore, South India in 2003.
